I know this looks hard but it is very simple.  You piece a modified "log cabin" type of block. Next, match specific points on the block with your square ruler and trim the edges.  Use a dot of school glue in the seam allowance to make sure your points match perfectly and prevent sliding when stitching the seams... voila!  You are done in no time.  The fun part is figuring out what colors you want the vertical diamonds to be and what color you want the horizontal diamonds.  Then you can wow all of your friends.
