This is for intermediate knitters! It is a bit more complex than most of my patterns and requires some special stitches. There are 15 sections plus borders on either end. Each section is inspired by something related to spring, from blooming trees, to spring rain. There are also dot stitches, lace, flowers, butterflies, thistle, lettuce and catnip, and tea. You will have so much fun with this! You can, however, replace some of those sections with garter, stockinette, or the mesh pattern that is used if you wish to make it similar.

Colors
You do not need highly contrasting colors for this - blending colors look great as well as contrasting colors! Here are the actual amounts in case you are stash diving:

Color A - 200 yards
Color B - 320 yards
Color C - 370 yards
Color D - 370 yards

Note - use anywhere from a US 4-6 needle - just one where you like the fabric. We had testers use all sizes.

Final Measurements
Final measurements: 92” long by 16” wide (29” wide on the diagonal). You can easily shorten the charts if you want a shorter shawl and halve the two honeycomb sections. Suggestions will be given for this.

I (Casapinka) don’t recommend more than one highly variegated yarn, and if you use one, it should be used as Color A (the border and divider sections) and one other color. It may work fine but I haven’t seen any test knits in all variagated yarns and I think you’d lose a lot of the design. Speckles, however, are encouraged.
